I was asked by the Cambridge University Polish Society to design a modern logo that would also promote Polish traditions and culture.

APPROACH

RESULT

Because up until now the Society was using the Cambridge crest as their logo, I decided to build upon their heritage and create a crest-like sign. I combined the symbol of Cambridge - lion - with one of the Polish folk symbols - Gwiozda. It’s a type of a round cut-out decoration originating in Łowicz (central Poland), combining flowers, animals and other shapes into symmetrical patterns.

The result is a modern take on Polish folk art that represents equally students’ Polish origins and their Cambridge academic identity.
